A smaller section of Shadow Creek Ranch is located in Fort Bend County. Those students attend schools in Fort Bend ISD. Mary Marek Elementary and Laura Ingalls Wilder Elementary are the two Alvin ISD elementary schools located in Shadow Creek Ranch. Both schools are highly rated by the Texas Education Agency. Alvin ISD recently passed a bond election which will provide funds for a third elementary school to be built in Shadow Creek. Construction will begin in just a few short months. Students in grades 6-8 attend Nolan Ryan Jr. High, which opened in August, 2008. Nolan Ryan Jr. High is also located in Shadow Creek Ranch on Shadow Creek Parkway. NRJH earned a Recognized Rating for 2009 from the Texas Education Agency. Alvin ISD has purchased land for a 3rd high school to be located on FM 518 (Broadway) west of Highway 288. Funds in the recently passed bond issue will be used to complete planning and design for the facility. At present, high school students living in Shadow Creek Ranch attend Manvel High School. Manvel High School opened in August, 2006 in a state of the art facility located at 19601 Hwy 6. The second phase of MHS opened in August, 2009. Manvel High School offers dual credit, advanced placement classes, Manvel Mavericks varsity level sports and outstanding fine arts programs. Manvel High School had its first graduating class in June, 2009 and also earned a Recognized rating from the Texas Education Agency for 2009. Pearland Town Center, located adjacent to Shadow Creek Ranch on FM 518, is an open-air center and opened in 2008. Pearland Town Center is home to many restaurants and retail shops including Macy’s, Dillards, Barnes and Noble and Sports Authority.
